Terms of Service

Last updated: May 22, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a Gatoms account, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorised to work in your jurisdiction. Gatoms memberships are personal and non-transferable.

3. Qualifying Events

Income bridge benefits activate only upon an involuntary separation event — including reduction in force, role elimination, or company closure. Voluntary resignations, performance terminations, and mutual separations do not qualify. Gatoms reserves the right to request documentation to verify a qualifying event.

4. Waiting Period

All individual members are subject to a waiting period from their enrollment date before salary continuity benefits become available. Founding Members (first 500): 3 months. Early Members (501–2,000): 6 months. Standard Members (2,001+): 12 months. A 2-month payment delay applies after the waiting period before first salary continuity payment. Evaluation and accelerated placement services begin on the day of layoff, regardless of waiting period status.

5. Salary Continuity

Salary continuity payments are based on your last drawn salary. Your annual fee is calculated from your gross monthly salary (to determine your tier); the coverage percentage you select at enrolment (60–80%) is then applied to your net monthly salary. Gatoms may request payslips, employment contracts, or tax documents for verification (e.g. EPFO in India). Payments begin after the waiting period plus a 2-month payment delay, and continue for your chosen coverage tenure (3, 6, 9, or 12 months) or until your placement — whichever is sooner. The step-down schedule defined in your enrolment terms applies throughout. Salary continuity stops immediately upon acceptance of new employment.

6. Placement Services

Gatoms provides accelerated placement support including activation assessment, proactive job matching, and employer outreach. Placement is not guaranteed. Gatoms operates as an HR services company and does not charge placement fees to employers. Members are expected to actively participate in the placement process.

7. Offer Refusal Policy

Members are expected to accept qualifying offers in good faith. A qualifying offer is one that is (a) at 80% or more of the member's last documented salary, (b) within the member's stated role type or adjacent, and (c) within 20% commute distance or remote-eligible. Refusals are handled as follows: First refusal — documented, no penalty, placement continues. Second refusal of a qualifying offer — salary continuity steps down by an additional 10% immediately. Third refusal of a qualifying offer — Gatoms may terminate salary continuity with 30 days written notice. Refusals due to genuine role mismatch, as determined by Gatoms, carry no penalty. Disputes may be referred to Gatoms's review panel.

8. Member Obligations

Members receiving salary continuity must (a) remain actively engaged in their job search, (b) submit monthly declarations of continued unemployment, (c) participate in placement activities coordinated by Gatoms, and (d) notify Gatoms within 5 business days of accepting new employment.

9. Cancellation & Refunds

Memberships are annual and paid upfront. Members who have not activated salary continuity benefits may request a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of their annual term. No refunds are issued after salary continuity benefits have been activated. Annual membership terms are locked for the year of payment.

10. Fraud & Misrepresentation

Providing false information, fabricating a qualifying event, or otherwise misrepresenting your employment status is grounds for immediate membership termination and legal action. Gatoms employs automated and manual fraud detection.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Disputes shall be resolved by arbitration in Bangalore, Karnataka.
