Layoff happens

Evaluation and placement begin on Day 1

The moment you're laid off, Gatoms activates. Your activation assessment begins immediately — deep technical and soft skills evaluation, resume benchmarking, and a verified Gatoms Candidate Profile. Active placement starts on the same day.

  • Employer notification OR self-report
  • Identity & employment verified
  • Activation assessment begins immediately

Salary continuity begins

After your waiting period

Salary continuity kicks in after your membership waiting period ends (Founding Members: 3 months · Early Members: 6 months · Standard Members: 12 months). It continues until you're placed — so you negotiate from strength, not desperation.

  • Salary continuity based on your membership tier
  • Covers a meaningful portion of your prior salary
  • Stops the moment you're placed — no overpayment

Common questions

Everything you want to know

When do I need to sign up — before or after I'm laid off?

Before. You enroll as an annual member while you're employed so the career safety net is ready when you need it. Gatoms does not accept new members after a layoff event has occurred.

What counts as a qualifying layoff?

Any involuntary separation — reduction in force, role elimination, company closure, or mass layoff. Voluntary resignations, performance terminations, and contract expirations do not qualify.

How does Gatoms fund salary continuity?

Annual membership fees from both B2C members and B2B company enrollments create a float that funds salary continuity. Annual upfront payments mean fees are collected well before any payouts begin — giving Gatoms a stable base to operate from. Gatoms is classified as an HR services company, not an insurer.

Is there a waiting period after I sign up?

Yes. Waiting periods exist to maintain integrity and fairness. Founding Members (first 500): 3 months. Early Members (501–2,000): 6 months. Standard Members (2,001+): 12 months. Evaluation and accelerated placement begin on Day 1 of a layoff — regardless of tier. Salary continuity follows after your waiting period plus a 2-month payment delay for individual memberships (the B2B / company-sponsored path uses a 1-month delay).

What if I find a job on my own before salary continuity begins?

Great — that's the goal. Evaluation and active placement begin on Day 1, before salary continuity starts. If you're placed quickly — before or during your salary continuity period — payouts simply don't start or stop immediately. Gatoms' model is built to incentivise fast placement for everyone.

Ready to start your protection?

Annual membership. Founding Member spots are limited — shorter waiting period, same price.
