1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the platform. Gatoms uses a minimal set of cookies (see the table in Section 2). We also use one other browser-storage technology — `localStorage` — for two things that are NOT cookies: product analytics via PostHog (Section 4) and the record of your own consent choice (Section 5). Nothing non-essential is read from or written to your device until you have said yes.

3. Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are required for the platform to function. Without them you cannot sign in or access your dashboard. The only essential cookies we set are the Supabase Auth `sb-*` session cookies listed above. They are cleared automatically when you sign out, and cannot be disabled while you are using authenticated features of the platform.

4. Analytics — PostHog (localStorage, not cookies)

We use PostHog for product analytics — page views, conversion funnels, and feature-usage metrics. PostHog stores its session identifier in your browser's `localStorage` rather than in a cookie. We use PostHog's EU data-residency host by default (`https://eu.i.posthog.com`) unless configured otherwise. We do not send your data to any advertising network, and we never sell it. Analytics is OFF until you allow it: if you decline, or have not answered yet, PostHog is never initialised at all — no identifier is written, no page view is recorded, and no request is made to the PostHog host. See Section 5 for how to change your answer.

5. Your Consent Choice

The first time you visit, a consent notice asks whether you are happy for us to run product analytics. Declining is one click, the same size and prominence as accepting; there are no pre-ticked boxes, and closing the notice without answering leaves analytics OFF — silence is never treated as consent. Essential storage (the `sb-*` sign-in cookies in Section 3) is not part of that question: without it you cannot sign in. Your answer is recorded in this browser's `localStorage` under the key `gatoms_consent`, together with the date you decided, so we do not ask again on every visit — it is never sent to an advertiser and it does not identify you. To change your answer, clear this site's stored data for gatoms.com (Section 7): the notice then asks again and you can decide differently. We also re-ask everyone whenever this policy materially changes what is processed, rather than carrying an old decision forward. If you would rather we recorded the withdrawal at our end, email privacy@gatoms.com and we will.

6. Third-Party Cookies

Gatoms does not place third-party advertising cookies. If you access Gatoms through a partner link (e.g., a company HR portal), that partner may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policy. We have no control over third-party cookies set outside the gatoms.com domain.

7. How to Control Cookies and Browser Storage

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or be notified before a cookie is set. Your browser's "Clear site data" option for gatoms.com clears everything we keep on your device at once — PostHog's `localStorage` entries, the `gatoms_consent` record (so the consent notice asks you again), and the `sb-*` session cookies (which signs you out). Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using authenticated features. Quick references: Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data. 8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Where a change alters what we process or adds a new processor, we ask for your consent again rather than relying on the answer you gave to the previous version.
