Your waiting period is set by the cohort you join in. Founding Members (first 500): 3 months. Early Members (501–2,000): 6 months. Standard Members (2,001+): 12 months. Once it is complete, your layoff protection is fully active — if you're laid off, notify Gatoms and salary continuity and placement begin immediately.

What is the waiting period before salary continuity starts?
It depends on the cohort you join in. Founding Members (first 500): 3 months. Early Members (501–2,000): 6 months. Standard Members (2,001+): 12 months. The earlier you enrol, the earlier your protection activates. It's the same logic as health cover — you enrol long before you need it. Gatoms itself is an HR services membership, not an insurer.
What if I'm laid off before my waiting period is complete?
Salary continuity requires the waiting period to be complete. However, your Skill Pulse profile is live and visible to employers from day one — so placement support can still begin immediately.
How is my salary continuity calculated?
It's based on your monthly gross salary, your chosen continuity rate (60–80%), and your salary tier. Use the pricing calculator to see your exact number.
Do I need to prove I was laid off?
Yes — you'll need to provide a layoff notice or separation letter. That keeps the programme fair and salary continuity sustainable for every member.
What happens to my membership if I find a job quickly?
Great news — you get a re-employment bonus (up to 15% of your monthly continuity amount for month 1). Your membership continues and resets for the next continuity period.
